o  If you’re a student, please search for an instructor in your area or visit Help to better understand how the process works.

 

o  If you’re an instructor, please register via the Home Page and start by creating a searchable profile. Please visit the How To section on your Instructor’s Home Page to better understand how the process works (you will be sent to your Instructor’s Home Page after you register).

o  As a student, you can find instructors, schedule lessons, and make payments all from one easy location.

 

o  As an instructor you can acquire students, schedule lessons, receive payments, and communicate with your students.

How much does it cost?

 

o  LessonsCentral.com is currently free for all students and instructors.

 

Which web browsers are supported?

 

o  All common web browsers are currently supported by our site.

 

Is LessonsCentral.com offered in other countries?

 

o  We are currently only offered in the United States of America.

 

How old do I need to be to join your service?

 

o  13 years old.

Students:

 

I don’t see my instructor. What can I do?

 

o  Please make sure you login on the Home Page under Students.

o  Has your instructor signed up? You can send him/her an invite at share us with a friend at the bottom of the Home Page.

o  If you are sure they have signed up and cannot find them, please contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

There are no instructors in my area? What can I do?

 

o  We are currently trying to spread the word. If you know of anyone in your area that could use our service, please send them an invite at share us with a friend at the bottom of the Home Page.

o  Please check back with us in a few weeks as we continue to grow.

 

How do I schedule a lesson?

 

o  To schedule a lesson, simply click on a time slot which is available (green on the calendar) and follow the options provided. For more information on how to schedule a lesson, go to Help from your Instructor’s Home Page for complete instructions.

 

How can I cancel a lesson?

 

o  To cancel a lesson, simply click on the lesson you want to cancel and follow the options provided (please make sure you follow the Instructor’s Scheduling Rules when canceling a lesson). For more information on how to cancel a lesson, please go to Help from your Instructor’s Home Page.

 

How much do instructors charge?

 

o  The amount an instructor charges is up to the instructor. We do not hire the instructors nor do we put restrictions on what they charge.

 

Are the instructors employed by LessonsCentral.com?

 

o  No, instructors are not employed by LessonsCentral.com.

 

What if I use two different instructors?

 

o  You can have as many instructors as you would like. Once you login and you have more than one instructor, you will be provided with a list of instructors. Simply click on the appropriate instructor and you will be taken to their Instructor’s Home Page.

 

Where are lessons held?

 

o  The location of each lesson is up to the instructor. To find where an instructor holds his/her lessons, please look on their profile or on his/her Instructor’s Home Page.

 

How are instructors listed in search results?

 

o  Instructors are listed by zip code and surrounding zip codes.

How can students find my profile?

 

o  There are several ways students can find your profile:1) Search by Category, Sub-Category, and/or Zip Code, 2) Search by instructor Name / exact match.  Returning students will log in and be taken directly to your Instructor’s Home Page.

 

How do I upload an image / picture?

 

o  To upload a picture, please go to Edit Profile in the Quick Links section of your Instructor’s Home Page and use the upload image tool provided.

 

Why can’t I upload an image?

 

o  Your image may be too big. Please try to decrease the size and try again. If problems persist, please contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

What if I teach a category that isn’t listed?

 

o  If there is a missing category or subcategory, please contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

I don’t see my name listed in the search results?

 

o  Did you create a profile? You will not appear in the search results until you create a profile.

o  Please make sure your profile states the correct category, subcategory, and zip code.

o  If you still don’t see yourself in the search results, please contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

How can I add my existing students?

 

o  Encourage your existing students to do the following (new students will follow a similar path):

 

a) Go to www.LessonsCentral.com.

b) Search by Instructor Name with your name.

c) From Search Results, click on Schedule a Lesson (this will take them to your Instructor’s Home Page).

d) Using your scheduling rules, click on an available time slot to schedule a lesson. 

 

Students are connected to you when they send a message or schedule a lesson.

 

Can I add a link to my own website?

 

o  Yes, you can add a link to your website using link to us at the bottom of the Home Page. By doing so, you will increase our placement in search engines which should result in more students using our service.

 

Login:

 

Why can’t I login?

 

o  Make sure you have registered with the site before you login.

o  If you have forgotten your password, please go to www.LessonsCentral.com/?student/forgetpass if you are a student and www.LessonsCentral.com/?forgetpass if you are an instructor.

o  If you still cannot login, please contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

I’ve lost my password:

 

o  Please go to www.LessonsCentral.com/?student/forgetpass if you are a student and www.LessonsCentral.com/?forgetpass if you are an instructor and we will reset your password via e-mail.

 

Profile:

 

As a student, how can I change my user information?

 

o  To change your user information, click Edit User Information in the Quick Links section of your Instructor’s Home Page.

 

As an instructor, how can I change the information in my profile?

 

o  To change the information in your profile, simply click Edit Profile in the Quick Links section of your Instructor’s Home Page.

 

Message:

 

Why can’t I just use my outside e-mail?

 

o  We generally keep communication within the site to protect the privacy of our users.

 

Payment:

 

What type of payment will my instructor accept?

 

o  The payments that are accepted are up to each instructor. You can use a credit card or PayPal to make online payments. Depending on the instructor, you may also be able to pay in cash or personal check. Please contact your instructor for payment information.

 

As an instructor, how do I accept online payments?

 

o  To accept payments, you will need to create a PayPal account. Once you have created an account, you can create and send invoices to your students.  Students will then be able to pay via credit card or PayPal.

 

Privacy/Safety:

 

What does LessonsCentral.com do with my information?

 

o  We work hard to keep your information safe and secure and we hate spam as much as you do.  Please go to our privacy policy page for more information www.LessonsCentral.com/?content/&privacy.

 

How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?

 

o  Please report any inappropriate content or behavior to us right away. You can contact us at Customer.Service@LessonsCentral.com.

 

How do I know if a student or instructor is safe?

 

o  Anyone can sign up for our site. As a result, we cannot be responsible for the actions of our students or instructors. Just as you would if you met someone off-line, follow up on references, meet in a safe place, and always supervise lessons with your child.
